Great moments in brushing with greatness

Oh mercy, I had so many brushes with greatness this week (thanks to being friends with great people), I had to do a weekly wrap-up that was actually weekly. Because when your friends are this great, you can't keep it under wraps, you have to wrap it up. Or something. Whatever - let the name dropping begin!

Ilana at Mommy Shorts had a crazy week - her Baby Mugging phenomenon was on JEOPARDY, she got to live tweet from a swanky NickMom event, and she announced why Taye Diggs touched her toilet. Hint: OMGOMGOMG, she has her own show!

Where was I while this awesomeness was going on, you might ask? Oh, trust me, my life is pretty glamorous, too. I might not have my own show, but I'm thinking of pitching one to HGTV in which I give step-by-step instructions for making simple DIY projects, like a bathroom makeover, ridiculously complicated.

Julie, aka Lydia from Rants From Mommyland, launched a new website called Art Fails - click over there to laugh at crazy kid masterpieces (or kids' crazy masterpieces - yeah, that sounds better) and then submit some of those ridiculous pictures I know you have hanging on your fridge.

These should not be confused with your child's school photos, which are also usually funny and hanging on your fridge, but for all the wrong reasons. That's part of why school pictures suck so much, which I explained on In The Powder Room this week.

And if you have your own messed up art projects, send me an email with pics and I'll feature you on CraftFail! Though I might wonder why you'd try to make a purse out of a kickball, or potentially get myself fired for turning your frog cake pop into a graphic that only I think is funny.

Elsewhere on the web, Johi. of Confessions of a Cornfed Girl, let me infest her wonderful blog with my silliness when she interviewed me and I accidentally might've revealed a short list of people my husband is going to kill.

I knew Nicole Leigh Shaw was superfunny, but she even made me laugh out loud at her post about carrots and carbs - now that's talent.

Kim of Let Me Start By Saying wrote the definitive guide to buying underwear on In The Powder Room - and if you think she's wrong about granny panties, you're kidding yourself.

Kim of The Fordeville Diaries wrote about the pumkinization of America and gave it the finger.

On Huffington Post Parents, Melissa Sher wrote a post about why she's letting her children watch the Breaking Bad finale that was so funny, I read it out loud to my husband between guffaws, even though he was the one who sent me the link in the first place. It's that good.

Finally, click over to listen in on the advice Dr. Phil gave Bethany of Bad Parenting Moments about babies throwing food - naturally, he was as helpful as he always is.

And FINALLY finally, please stay tuned for big stuff coming up Monday - I'm teaming up with over THIRTY awesome bloggy friends to bring you a giveaway worth almost $700! And it'll be so easy to enter, you'd have to really hate fantastic free stuff and gift cards to skip it. See you then - good luck!

I hope you enjoyed yourself while you were here - and I hope you come back! Please share inappropriate giggles with me on Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook, or subscribe via email so you don't miss a thing!
