This holiday message brought to you by: Awkward

Hey, merry post-Christmas! Or is it merry day after Christmas? Merry "Two-Days-After-Christmas" Eve?

Well, whatever it is, it's my favorite part of the whole holiday. It's the sweet spot between the hectic pre-Christmas preparations and the dreaded after-Christmas un-decorating (unless you just pick one of these 101 reasons to leave your Christmas tree up, leave it in place until February, and enjoy the embarrassment of a sexy Valentine's tree, like we do).

I wanted to mark the occasion with a special holiday message for you all, so naturally I told my mom, "Hey, I need photos of Gerry and myself making out inappropriately in half-assed Mr. and Mrs. Claus costumes for an In The Powder Room holiday message," and instead of having me committed and filing for custody of my children, she offered to take the pictures for us.

I love my mom.

We never quite captured exactly the look I was going for, but we did get several that made me laugh. Here are a few outtakes:

we're doing it wrong - Robyn Welling @RobynHTV

Santa's wardrobe malfunction - Robyn Welling @RobynHTV

kissing Santa, sort of - Robyn Welling @RobynHTV

impatient Mrs Claus - Robyn Welling @RobynHTV

press charges against Santa by Robyn Welling @RobynHTV

Mrs Claus is bored - Robyn Welling @RobynHTV

Christmas greetings from Robyn Welling @RobynHTV

I know, it's hard to believe anything could top those, but check out the winning photo greeting over In The Powder Room - it really captures how I feel after this lovely, bless'ed holiday season. Merry merry, everybody!

I hope you enjoyed yourself while you were here - and I hope you come back! Please share inappropriate giggles with me on Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook, or subscribe via email so you don't miss a thing - and so I don't get all lonely. I get extra-pathetic when I'm lonely.

  2. I love the outtakes! I also love when husbands (and mothers) play along with our blogging creations. Sometimes I wonder if they're quietly thinking "I had no idea I'd end up here." My favorite is Santa biting your chin.

  3. It does make the fun parts a lot more fun when they play along instead of calling the people in white coats! :)

  8. What is it about posing for a ridiculous picture that makes the pictures even more ridiculous?
