Years ago, my husband and I used to leave each other love notes in our Hollow Tree. Now we're happily married, with five kids; this blog is where I share the usually ridiculous, often sarcastic, sometimes aggravating, and occasionally even touching tales of our ventures into parenthood. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The Shopping Solution

This post was originally published here, where your eyeballs currently are, but got moved to Hollow Tree Reviews, assuming I did it right.

It's a fantastic piece on Ubokia, a whole new way to shop online.

You're intrigued, I can tell.

Feel free to click over and check it out!

Come back and shop any time - just click the Ubokia button on the left sidebar!
If you need practice clicking, might I suggest honing your click skills on the Top Mommy Blogs button below?

  1. That all sounds pretty cool. I'll probably never use it because I'm way too lazy to search for things except for tips on how to survive a trip to the grocery store without wanting to strangle your kids, but it's still pretty cool.

    1. Oh, how I wish I had those kinds of tips... ;)

  2. I love shopping. Right now I am on a quest to find sweat pants for the boys that have a slightly gathered cuff like the ones they sold at Kohls last year. NO ONE (including kohls) has them. Note to self: when I find something I like, buy a lifetime supply! Although, I doubt my boys will still want me dressing them in their 30s. And since my boys HATE to go shopping, I can threaten them with Kohls: "If you don't knock it off I'm taking you to Kohls!" Win win! Either they stop whatever obnoxious behavior they are doing, or I get to go to Kohls! Seriously, I should write parenting books.

    1. That IS a really good strategy... ::takes notes:: But you could list your "want" for sweats on Ubokia - couldn't hurt! Just sayin' - then you could shop for clothes for yourself at Kohls! :)

  3. Clothes? Who needs 'em? Not THIS guy.

So, does this mean we get to unload a bunch of our too-good-to-give/throw-away-but-not-worth-the-ebay-hassle stuff??? Anyone out there looking for an ancient Apple programming book?

  4. I laughed out loud at the "I was compensated...can you believe it?". It could read 2 ways: can you believe someone paid me? Or: can you believe this post is compensated? Because I'm so awesome at writing as though it isn't, I'll bet you never guessed. I really hope that it's the second one. Because for some reason that I can't even verbalize, I think that's hilarious. Oh, whatever. This is the dumbest comment ever. But good luck with your shop!

(and also, I just got email notification that you commented on my blog. At the SAME TIME that I'm commenting on yours. Synergy!)

    1. Am I the only one hearing the Twilight Zone theme???

I love that you laughed at that, because I DID mean it two ways. But my two ways were, "Can you believe someone paid me?" and a sarcastic, "I bet you totally couldn't tell this was a sponsored post." :)

    2. "I bet you totally couldn't tell this was a sponsored post" <-- that's exactly what I meant. You're just better than me at...words. And stuff.

    3. Ha! Well, I don't think that's true at all about the words and stuff, plus the only thing I've made out of clay in my adult life is (no kidding) a family joke that we sneak into each others' houses and leave behind like an act of vandalism - so you have me beat there, too. ;)

    1. Ugh, me too - though sometimes I just can't look away. Except when they're hoarding ANIMALS, which I didn't even know was a thing until I saw it on the show, and now I'll never be able to un-know it.

  6. Lol, I HATE garage sales. I can't believe some people enjoy them - I mean, good for them! I'm happy for them. I usually just go to the Goodwill.

This sounds cool, even if you were paid. Maybe I'll check it out if I can ever get organized enough to figure out what precious treasures I should part with...

    1. Oh my, how I love the Goodwill! :)

I know sometimes you can lose some credibility as soon as you get paid for whatever you're talking about, but I was honestly excited to post about this because it really is pretty cool - I hope you can put it to good use. ;)
